West Indies legend Chris Gayle expressed his joy at meeting India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently, claiming that he has pinned that moment on Instagram about meeting the 'legend'. The Jamaican reflected that he has been coming to India for plenty of years now and it was a pleasure to meet Modi alongside his own Prime Minister.

Gayle is one of the bona fide IPL legends, having played for the Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings. His record for the Royal Challengers is impressive and is the franchise's third-highest run-getter's 3420 runs in 91 matches at 43.29, slamming five centuries for them.

Speaking to IANS, here's what the West Indian said when asked about his meeting with Modi:

"What a legend, great to meet him. I've been coming to India all these time and it was fantastic to get a chance to meet him with my Prime Minister as well... You can see on my Instagram, I've actually pinned that moment."

"He is still the best player in the world regardless of the form" - Chris Gayle on Virat Kohli

With Indian batting star Virat Kohli struggling to score runs in the last few months, the 36-year-old said statistics prove he is the best player, regardless of form. Hence, Gayle suggested he is not too worried about Kohli's current predicament and stated, as quoted by The Indian Express:

"He is still the best player in the world regardless of the form, Virat Kohli is still the best player, the stats prove that, how many centuries across formats he has scored as well. It’s just one of those things that we cricketers go through in patches. I know it is coming at the back end of his career as well, but these things do happen, so he just needs to pick himself up and come back again."
