Team India's star batter Virat Kohli asked the crowd to shush after the hosts witnessed a timely strike for them on day two of the second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval. With Nitish Kumar Reddy dismissing Marnus Labuschagne for 64, the tourists were fired up and Kohli made the gesture while celebrating the wicket.

The dismissal occurred in the 56th over of the innings as extra bounce from Reddy prompted Labuschagne to play the cut short over third man. However, he had mistimed it and Jaiswal took a sharp catch at gully, ending a 65-run stand with Travis Head. With the crowd getting behind the home side in the last 20 minutes or so as they were getting ahead, Kohli seized the opportunity.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah, who had nipped out Usman Khawaja on day one, removed Nathan McSweeney and Steve Smith on day two to apply pressure on Australia. The opening day of the pink-ball Test saw Indian skipper Rohit Sharma opting to bat first but Mitchell Starc proved to be the star of the show with six wickets to skittle the tourists for 180.
Later, McSweeney and Labuschagne dug in hard to get through to Stumps with the hosts at 86-1. Team India lead the five-Test series by 1-0 after thumping Australia by 295 runs in Perth.
