A fan wildly was seen celebrating quite wildly after Virat Kohli reached his ton in the high-octane Champions Trophy 2025 clash vs Pakistan on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium. In a video shared on social media, the fan was seen screaming at the top of his voice the moment Kohli reached the three-figure mark.
All eyes were on the 36-year-old as Pakistan had set India a middling target of 242 after opting to bat first. Shaheen Shah Afridi had notably tried to deny Kohli a hundred in the 41st over of the innings by bowling wides and copped boos from the spectators in Dubai. However, the right-handed batter eventually got to his 51st ODI hundred with a boundary off Khushdil Shah in the next over and it also proved to be the winning runs.

"It's about keeping the outside noise away" - Virat Kohli
At the post-match presentation, Kohli, who won the Player of the Match award, claimed that all he intended was not to take risk against the spinners due to the nature of the surface. The 36-year-old said he blocked the noise around the hype of the game by keeping his head down and working hard.
"It feels to be good to bat in that manner in an important game, where a spot for semis was there to be taken, after Rohit fell. My job was clear - to control the middle overs, not take risks against spinners and take on pacers. I was happy with the template, it's how I play in ODIs. I have a decent understanding of my game. It's about keeping the outside noise away, take care of my energy levels and thoughts. It's easy for me to get pulled into expectations and frenzy around games like these. When you put your head down and go about your work, things work out."
As per the current scenario, India and New Zealand have qualified for the semi-finals.
