Team India's star batter Virat Kohli was seen arriving at his Porsche at the Arun Jaitley Stadium ahead of his Ranji Trophy return on January 30. In a video that surfaced on social media, the 36-year-old's luxury car with 0018 number plate was seen entering the stadium gate to train with the Delhi squad to play against the Railways. The number 0018 on his car plate is with reference to his jersey number which has 18 on its back.
Having not played in the Ranji Trophy since 2012, Kohli's struggles in red-ball cricket have forced him to return to the first-class competition. The former Indian skipper scored only one half-century and century across 10 Tests against Bangladesh, New Zealand and Australia in the recently-concluded season of red-ball cricket. With India set to tour England next year, the veteran must overcome his struggles if he is to warranty a place in the squad for the five-Test series.
