P.J. Hindu Gymkhana packed too many guns for rivals Islam Gymkhana winning their R F S Talyarkhan Memorial Invitational T-20 Cricket Tournament tie with a measure of ease. Hindu Gymkhana scored 180 for 2 in 16.4 overs in reply to Islam Gymkhana total of 179 for six in 20 overs at the Bombay Gymkhana ground late Thursday night.

Hindu Gymkhana batsmen hell for leather approach paid rich dividends as they advanced into the semi-finals with this decisive eight-wicket win. Opener Jay Bista set the tone for the victors with an authoritative unbeaten 50-ball knock of 99 which saw six sixes and nine boundaries. Bista was involved in 152-run partnership with Rugved More for the first wicket in 13.2 overs. More cracked a solid 64 runs (42-balls, 10x4) to put his team on the road to victory.

Earlier meaningful contributions from Hard Tamore 46, Vinayak Bhoir 35, Akhtar Shaikh 32 and Pravin Shetty 25 helped Islam Gymkhana total 179 for six.
