The CBSE Cluster IX Basketball Tournament kicked off on 20th July 2025 at Indira National School, Pune. The opening day witnessed a series of competitive matches in both the girls’ and boys’ categories, setting the tone for an exciting tournament ahead.
In the girls’ division, OBIS comfortably defeated ORCH with a score of 20-3 in the first match. The second game saw GURU. G dominated NIS, winning 34-4. PPS showcased a brilliant offensive display, defeating CPSN 40-0 in a one-sided affair. Match 4 between VIBB and SNHN was closely contested, with VIBB edging out a 14-12 victory. WH outperformed GURU. G 24-1 in Match 5.
In the sixth match, KLS overpowered RIS with a convincing 24-2 win.
In the boys’ matches, CPSM triumphed over LGS with a solid 25-8 scoreline in Match 1. PIS overcame GGIS 19-11 in the second game. APS delivered a dominant performance against GKS, winning 37-6. HI5 began their campaign with a 23-8 win against THS in Match 4. However, in their second match, HI5 suffered a heavy 25-2 defeat to SHAN. The last match of the day was a nail-biter where DHRUV narrowly beat PPS 17-15.
