Anuj Gawade will lead Maharashtra team in the 50th Junior National Kabaddi Championship 2024 that is set to take place in Haridwar, from January 8 to 11. This prestigious tournament featuring the best young talent from across India, will see 24 boys’ and girls’ teams, selected from state-level competitions, compete for national glory.

Last year, the tournament was hosted by the Telangana Kabaddi Association, where the Sports Authority of India (SAI) teams emerged victorious. The SAI boys defeated Rajasthan State Kabaddi, while the SAI girls overcame Tamil Nadu State Kabaddi to claim the championship titles.

The Uttarakhand Kabaddi Association is set to host this year’s event, bringing together top teams from across the country. Maharashtra is among the standout boys’ team, led by Gavade, having strong support from players Om Kudale, Aditya Pilane, and Rohan Tupare, under the expert coaching of Ayub Pathan and Vaibhav Patil. Other notable teams include West Bengal, featuring Rohit Kumar, Prakash Ghatak, and Amit Das; Madhya Pradesh, represented by Umesh Khairwar and Hrash Mandloi; Rajasthan, with Mukesh Bhakar and Hitesh Sharan; Manipur, showcasing talents like Manjur, M.B. Singh, and Sameer; and the Sports Authority of India team, comprising Hitesh Kadian, Sombir Mehra, and Vikas Jadhav.

For the first time, the entire tournament will be live-streamed on SportVot in association with FPJ, allowing kabaddi enthusiasts to follow every match as it unfolds. The championship promises four days of intense competition, as teams aim to leave their mark on the national stage. Fans can catch all the action live and support the rising stars of Indian kabaddi.

National Amateur Junior & Senior MMA Championship from today

Around 500 players will participate in the National Amateur Junior & Senior MMA Championship in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, from January 8-11. Fighters from across the nation are ready to showcase their skills, determination, and grit inside the cage, promising four days of exhilarating action for MMA enthusiasts.

The bouts begin in the afternoon, featuring senior fighters in Cage 1 competing across Flyweight, Bantamweight, Featherweight, and Lightweight categories in a bracket of 16. Simultaneously, junior fighters will battle it out in Bantamweight and Featherweight brackets in Cage 2. Mat 3 will witness the finals for divisions D1 and D2, adding an extra layer of intensity to the day.

On Day 2, bouts starting at 11 AM. Cage 1 hosts the senior and junior quarterfinals, featuring brackets of eight, while Cage 2 sees thrilling youth and semi-contact matches. On Mat 3, Youth categories C and B conclude their finals, culminating in a medal distribution ceremony exclusively for the youth division.

The pressure intensifies on Day 3, as the semi-finals for senior and junior fighters take the spotlight. Bouts begin at 11 AM. Cage 1 hosts the senior semi-finals, while Cage 2 focuses on junior fighters. With every fighter vying for a spot in the finals, the atmosphere is bound to be electric.

Finally, Day 4, January 11, brings the championship to its grand finale. After morning weigh-ins, the action begins at 10 AM, with Cage 1 hosting the senior finals and Cage 2 showcasing the junior finals. After a midday break, the event concludes with the medal distribution ceremony at 4 PM, honoring the exceptional athletes who have triumphed.
