Saurabh Chaudhary went through to the 10m Air Pistol final while his compatriot Abhishek Verma missed out.
The medal round will be held later on Saturday.
Saurabh finished his qualification with 586/600 (28x) points. He had three 9s in his final series, but his score should be enough to take him to the 10m air pistol final.
