Former Sri Lankan captain Sanath Jayasuriya hosted a dinner reception at his Colombo residence for a group of Indian and Sri Lankan cricket stars. The gathering brought together several familiar faces from the cricketing world, including India head coach Gautam Gambhir and commentators Harsha Bhogle and Sanjay Manjrekar.
Sri Lankan journalist, Azzam Ameen shared pictures from the meeting on social media.
"Such a lovely evening at Sanath ayya’s place with some Indian & Sri Lankan cricket stars! Lots of laughs, interesting chats and some great cricket stories!" he wrote on his Instagram post.
Jayasuriya was also joined by several of his former Sri Lanka teammates, including Russell Arnold. The dinner provided an opportunity for the former players, coaches and commentators to catch up in a relaxed setting.
Gambhir's visit comes ahead of the India vs Sri Lanka second Test match in Colombo. The Men in Blue clinched a convincing victory in the first game, beating the hosts by 165 runs in Galle. India will now hope to seal off the series starting Sunday, and keep their hopes of reaching the World Test Championship final alive.
