Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh penned down an emotional note on Sachin Tendulkar's 52nd birthday on Thrusday, April 24. Taking to X, he wrote, "He was my childhood hero before he even knew my name. And then one day, I walked into a dressing room and saw him there. The Master himself. But what stayed with me wasn’t just his greatness. It was his grace."
"For all the centuries, the cheers, the weight of a billion hopes, he carried it all with the gentlest humility. Happy Birthday, Master. You didn’t just play the game. You taught us how to carry ourselves through it. Loads of love always". The note also consisted of a video which gives glimpse about the memorable moment shared by the duo during their playing career.
Sachin Tendulkar's glorious cricketing journey
Sachin Tendulkar's legendary cricket journey started at the age of 16 when he made his Test debut on November 15, 1989. Just a month later, on December 18, he played his first ODI match. As the time progressed the right handed batsman kept on piling mountain of runs which is yet to be fully climbed by the current crop of cricketers.
Sachin scored 34,357 runs in 664 international appearances at an average of 48.52 making him the highest run-scorer in international cricket. He holds the record for most centuries (100) and half-centuries (164) across formats, and remains the only player to score a century of centuries.
In ODIs alone, Tendulkar amassed 18,426 runs at an average of 44.83, including 49 centuries and 96 fifties. In Tests, he scored 15,921 runs at an average of 53.78, with 51 centuries and 68 fifties. He was also the first player to score a double century in ODIs and the only cricketer to play 200 Test matches.
Tendulkar was a key part of the Indian team that won the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011 a moment that fulfilled his lifelong dream.
