Out-of-favour Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw has revealed that Rishabh Pant was the only one reaching out to him over the past two years when he endured a tough time. Shaw, whose lack of discipline and form, have come under the scanner, hasn't played for the national team since 2021 despite a promising start.

The young right-hander notably joined an elite class of players to score a century on debut against the West Indies in 2018, smashing 134 off 154 deliveries at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. However, his career fell off the cliff, following his struggles in Australia. Shaw also went out of favour as far as IPL franchises were concerned and has been granted the requested NOC to leave Mumbai ahead of the upcoming domestic season.

Speaking to News24, the interviewer asked him if any cricketer reached out to him with any word of advice. Shaw responded by saying:

"Rishabh ka aaya tha. Rishabh ka beech beech mein aata hai. Usse jab lagta hai. (Rishabh had reached out, he does message me every now and then)

Shaw and Pant have played for a handful of years for the Delhi Capitals.

"I made some wrong friends" - Prithvi Shaw

In the same interview, Shaw acknowledged that he has taken several wrong turns in his life, leading to his career going off track. The right-handed batter, who has also played some county cricket in England, elaborated:

"There are a lot of things. It is different for people to see. Because I know what has happened. I can understand it. I have taken a lot of wrong decisions in life. I started giving less time to cricket. I used to practice a lot. For example, I used to bat for 3-4 hours in nets. I never got tired of batting. I used to go to the ground for half a day. I admit that there was a distraction. After that, I started considering what was not necessary as necessary. I made some wrong friends."
