Love is in the air, and all eyes are now on Lucknow as this cricket-politics power couple takes their first step toward forever. Rinku Singh is set to begin a new innings off the field as he prepares to exchange engagement ring with Member of Parliament Priya Saroj in a private ceremony in Lucknow today, June 8.
Priya Saroj, 25, recently made headlines as one of the youngest MPs in the 18th Lok Sabha, representing Machhlishahr in Jaunpur district. Rinku, 27, featured for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025 edition
According to the TV9 report, the engagement will take place at the luxurious Centrum Hotel, where final touches are being made for what promises to be a star-studded affair. Around 300 handpicked guests will attend, including big names from the world of politics and cricket. Expected attendees include Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Jaya Bachchan, and other high-profile personalities.
When is Rinku SIngh and MP Priya Saroj getting married?
Following the engagement, the couple's families will begin preparing for the grand wedding, scheduled for November 18 at the Taj Hotel in Varanasi. Traditional ceremonies will take place at their respective homes in the days leading up to the wedding.
However, Rinku’s big day may see a few absences from the cricket fraternity, as it coincides with Team India’s Australia tour, possibly ruling out the presence of some close teammates.
Priya’s father, Toofani Saroj, who has been a two-time MP from the Samajwadi Party recently spoke to reporters and said that the marriage was fixed with the agreement of both families after meeting in Aligarh.
“Rinku and Priya have known each other for some time. They were introduced through Priya’s friend’s father, who is a cricketer himself. With the blessings of both families, they have decided to get married,”.
