Mumbai: Defending champions Rebels Sports Club faced quite a stiff challenge and had to work hard for their 3-2 win against a determined Hockey Dadar in a well-contested veteran men’s final of the Mount Carmel Open Invitation Floodlit Rink Hockey Tournament – 2019, organised under the auspices of the MHAL by the Carmel Sports Committee and played at the Mount Carmel Church compound.

Meghraj Murthy, Solomon Alexander and Madan Vishwanath were bang on target with a goal each for Rebels while Gavin Vandrine scored both the goals as Hockey Dadar put up a good fight, but fell short and finished as the runners-up.

Rebels started on a promising note as they did well to convert from the early chances through Meghraj and Solomon who both scored in quick succession to help their team a 2-0 cushion against a depleted Dadar outfit.

Stung by those setbacks the Dadar outfit regrouped and got their act together as they took the fight to the opposition camp and managed to cut the deficit with Gavin scoring the first of two goals to trail 1-2 at the break.
