Young and hugely promising jockey Yash Narredu produced a rare feat in Indian racing as he guided Fourth Wing, to a thrilling victory in the F D Wadia Trophy (Gr.3), held at the Pune Race Course here on Saturday.
In a small but competitive field of seven runners, Yash got off to a flying start, hitting the front from the word go in this seven-furlong contest. He judged the pace beautifully, keeping his mount relaxed in the lead before quickening at the bend. In the straight, his mount kept finding more under pressure and managed to stave off a late challenge from Money Bags, eventually winning by over a length.
It was a perfect day of racing amid overcast skies at the Pune track, and the young jockey’s performance stood out as the highlight of the afternoon. With this impressive victory, Yash Narredu continues to cement his reputation as one of the rising stars in Indian racing, displaying both tactical acumen and nerves of steel in the saddle.
