Palghar, Maharashtra: In a proud moment for Palghar district, Rudra Kini, a young athlete from Birwadi village, has secured third place in the national-level 4×400 metre relay race in the open men’s category. His remarkable achievement has brought joy and pride not only to his village but across Maharashtra.

The national open relay championship was recently held in Chandigarh, where Rudra represented Maharashtra as part of the relay team. The Tamil Nadu team clinched first place, followed by Punjab in second, while Maharashtra secured the third position.

Coach Snehal Rajput Plays Key Role in Honing Athlete's Skills

Under the guidance of his coach, Snehal Rajput, he has honed his athletic skills and demonstrated the strength of a dedicated coach-athlete relationship.

Hailing from a modest background, Rudra’s father, Ganesh Kini, works at the Palghar District Library and has been a constant pillar of support in his son’s sporting journey. With strong family values and encouragement, Rudra has managed to balance academics and sports effectively. He is currently a Class 11 student at Chafekar College in Palghar.

Grand Felicitation Ceremony Held in Birwadi with Procession and Celebrations

Following his achievement, celebrations erupted in Birwadi village. A felicitation ceremony was held at the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple, followed by a grand procession from the temple to his residence, accompanied by music and enthusiastic participation from villagers.
