Afghanistan registered their first ever win over Pakistan cricket team in a one-day international match and that too at the ongoing ICC Mens' Cricket World Cup 2023. The win was the Afghanistan cricket team's second biggest triumph at this World Cup, after they beat defending champions England in an earlier encounter. The victory over Pakistan gave enough reasons to Afghanistan fans to celebrate the win back home. And celebrate they did, coming out on the streets in large numbers and even firing celebratory shots.
However, one of the videos going viral on social media shows a Taliban supporter stopping an Afghan national from celebrating the victory over Pakistan. In the video, it can be seen that a Taliban supporter, acting more like an enforcer, beats a young man using a cane for celebrating Afghanistan's historic win over Pakistan. The man even snatches away the party popper from the hands of the fan and reprimands him severely.

Afghanistan scripts history
Talking of the match, Afghanistan scripted history by beating Pakistan at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup group stage match in Chennai on Monday (October 23). Afghanistan registered a handsome win after chasing down a target of 283 set by Pakistan. This was also the highest runs chased against Pakistan in any World Cup match by any of the teams.
Afghanistan fans back home celebrated the win with great fervour and enthusiasm. Many fans came out on the streets to mark Afghanistan cricket team's first victory over Pakistan in a one-day match or in the Cricket World Cup. However, reports of Taliban trying to interfere and spoil the celebrations and videos of such incident also surfaced on social media.
