Team India's keeper-batter KL Rahul has opened up on the changes his life has undergone since becoming a father. Ahead of the India-England Test series, the 33-year-old agreed that becoming a father puts some things into perspective and hilariously stated that he is yet to change his daughter's nappies.

Rahul's wife Athiya Shetty had given birth to a baby girl on March 24, 2025, forcing the cricketer to miss Delhi Capitals' opening match of IPL this year. The elegant right-handed batter married actress Athiya on January 23, 2023.

Speaking to Nasser Hussain for Sky Sports, Rahul, who has been named in the Test squad to face England, said he always promised himself not to take the game too seriously, given there are more important things in life. Speaking about caring for their baby, the veteran hilariously stated that he hasn't got the time to change nappies.

"Yeah, definitely. That's something I've always told myself and tried to keep it that way ever since I entered the Indian team. Told myself not to take things too seriously. Not saying I don't care or value the game and the opportunities I'm getting to play for my country. At the end of the day, it's still a game. It's hard to find that balance but I always try to remind myself that it's a game I chose to play because I had a lot of fun doing that as a kind and I have a few skills to perform against a good team. It's just about taking one game at a time and not target to play these many games."

"With the baby coming along, as you said, it puts everything into perspective. So, it's about taking things as it comes. I've still not had the opportunity or chance to change nappies because my baby was three days old when I had to go and play the IPL game and come back home a couple of times. So, still trying to learn how to change the nappies."
