Maria Sakkari and Yulia Putintseva were involved in a fiery exchange after their first-round match at the Bad Homburg Open, which Sakkari won in straight sets, 7–5, 7–6(6). The tension exploded during the handshake, turning a routine end-of-match moment into headline drama.

After the match ended, Putintseva gave Sakkari a cold handshake and a sarcastic bow, avoiding eye contact. Sakkari didn’t take it lightly. She immediately told Putintseva, “Just be like a human being. When you shake hands with someone, look them in the eyes.” As things got more intense, Sakkari then said, “Nobody likes you.” Putintseva, instead of responding with words, bowed again with sarcasm and walked away.

Later in her on-court interview, Sakkari confirmed the tension. She said, “I don’t think she’s going to invite me for dinner for the rest of our lives, but I don’t care.” However, she did add, “I have respect for her as a player, but that’s it.”

'I Got Him, Guys!': Alexander Bublik’s Hilarious Reaction After Stunning Win Over Jannik Sinner Goes Viral

Alexander Bublik pulled off a big surprise at the Halle Open by defeating World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in three sets: 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. It was one of the biggest wins of Bublik’s career. Sinner started strong and won the first set easily, but Bublik fought back with powerful serves and clever play. He hit 15 aces and 36 winners in the match, saving 8 out of 9 break points. His unpredictable style made it hard for Sinner to stay in control.

After the win, Bublik joked, “I got him, guys!” It was a funny follow-up to something he had said on Instagram before, when he lost to Sinner and wrote, “I almost got him.” This win ended many of Sinner’s impressive records, including his long streak of wins against lower-ranked players. Bublik now moves on to the quarterfinals where he’ll face Tomas Machac.

Known for his fun and unique playing style, Bublik once again proved he’s not just a showman, he’s a real threat, especially on grass courts. Fans will be watching him closely as Wimbledon approaches.
