Retired WWE wrestler and a notable former rival of Hulk Hogan expressed his shock at the former's sudden demise. Taking to X, Flair wrote that the late wrestler was one of the first ones to visit him when he was quite sick. Flair went on to mention that there will be no one quite like the Hulkster.
Flair and Hogan square off on various occasions when the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) was still World Wrestling Federation (WWF). Flair had defeated the Georgia-born wrestler in two televised single matches between 1991-1992. However, the most notable match between the two took place Uncensored 1999 in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), which again Flair won. The pair were amongst the most accomplished wrestlers during their heydays.
Taking to X, Flair wrote that Hogan was always there for him when needed and remembered how he also helped his son Reid on a monetary level when the latter was sick. The 76-year-old elaborated:
"I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @HulkHogan ! Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be. He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!"
