The British Grand Prix witnessed a big day for Kick Sauber F1 team driver, Nico Hulkenberg, who finally managed to break his long-standing Formula 1 podium drought with a third-place finish at the 2025 British Grand Prix. The podium was the first for Hulkenberg in his 239th Grand Prix start. Following his victory, a video went viral, where his daughter Noemi was seen celebrating his win in front of TV screen.

Hulkenberg’s wife, Egle, captured the adorable moment on video where Noemi excitedly points at the screen as her father stood proudly on the Silverstone podium.

Hulkenberg on securing a podium finish

Hulkenberg started 19th on the grid and had to navigate two safety car periods in a dramatic and unpredictable race. But he climbed the field, eventually overtaking Lance Stroll and securing third place.

It marked a massive personal milestone for the 36-year-old, who had long carried the tag of "unluckiest man in F1" for failing to land a podium finish despite years of consistent racing.

In the post-race press conference, Hulkenberg reflected on the long-awaited moment with visible pride and humor. He recalled his days in junior racing where podiums were frequent, but acknowledged the long wait at the sport’s top level.

“It felt good. I still remembered how to do [spray the champagne],” he said. “I used to do it a lot in the juniors, and I’ve had to wait for quite a bit.”

The crowd at Silverstone, many of whom were hoping for Lewis Hamilton’s first Ferrari podium, lifted their cheers to Hulkenberg, recognising the emotional weight of his achievement. “I Love Lego My Daughter Can Play With It Too”

British GP results

While Lando Norris won the home GP in style for Mc Laren, Lewis Hamilton had to settle for fourth in his first race at Silverstone as a Ferrari driver, while Verstappen recovered to fifth following his earlier spin in the Red Bull and Pierre Gasly claimed a solid sixth place for Alpine.

Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll was seventh – having just lost out on sixth to Gasly in the final moments – with Alex Albon taking eighth for Williams. The other Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso crossed the line in ninth, while George Russell rounded out the top 10 for Mercedes.
