Outgoing Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju shared India's anthem for the upcoming Tokyo Olyumpics 2020. Taking to Twitter, Rijiju wrote, "This is the full Official Olympic Anthem for the Indian Contingent sung by Mohit Chauhan which encompasses the spirit of an athlete's life.
As our contingent is in the final stage of preparation for #Tokyo2020 , let's unite & support them to do their best!"
As soon as the complete anthem came out, Indian sports fans expressed their elation on Twitter. One user wrote, "Excellent ! Motivating, captivating and inspiring. Good wishes to the Indian Olympian contingent ! Proud of all of you !"
On Thursday, Rijiju said the journey to make India a great sporting nation will continue after Anurag Thakur replaced him in the position with just a fortnight left for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Rijiju, who took charge of the sports ministry in May 2019, will hand over the responsibilities to Thakur, who is also the Information and Broadcasting minister in the reshuffled cabinet.
Thakur is the first cabinet minister since Mani Shankar Iyer (2006-2008) to get the sports ministry's responsibility. Rijiju has also been promoted to the rank of a cabinet minister and will take charge of the Ministry of Law and Justice.
