Saweety Boora the wife of Indian Kabaddi player Deepak Niwas Hooda is desperately trying to seek divorce havign filed case over allegedly harassing her for dowry and assaulting. While speaking to the media Saweety said, "Mujhe Deepak Hooda see jaldi see jaldi divorce diya jaaye. Main usse ek rupaya bhi nahi maang rahiu hu. Mujhe Nyaay mile. Meri galti yahi hai ki maine mere pe hue zulmo ke khilaaf awar uthayi." (I want divorce from Deepak Hooda and I dont need ven s single rupee of his earning. My only mistake wa sthat i raised my voice against the suffering in have been enduring)
She further added, "Main divorce case file kiya hai aur court mein evidence bhi diya hai. Woh insaan mujhe pressurise kar raha hai divorce nahi dene ke liye. Mujhe uss Rakshas se paise nahi chahiye, kyunki main bhikari nahi hu. Aaap sabse se binti hai ki mujhe nyaay dilane mein madad karein." ( I have filed divorce case inc court and gave all the evidence. That person (Deepak Hooda) is putting pressure on me to not divorce him. I don't need that devil's money because I am not abeggar. I request everyone to help me get justice)

The video of the press conference emrges a day after player Deepak Hooda was assaulted by his wife cum boxer Saweety Boora at the Police station in Hisar. The former world champion boxer also revealed to have attempted committing suicide due to the consistent abuse. Furthermore, she levelled allegations against the Superintendent of Police at the Hisar Police station of teaming up with Hooda, dubbing it as a conspiracy.
This case come into limelight just couple of days after Team India cricketer Yuzevndra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma were granted a divorce. Chahal had agreed to pay a permanent alimony of ₹4 crore 75 lakhs to Verma of which ₹2 crore 37 lakhs and 55 thousand is already paid.The non-payment of the rest of the amount was seen as non compliance by the family court.

Saweety and Deepak both haile from Haryana and tied the knot in July 2022. Saweety, who competes in the middleweight weight class, is a former world champion. Deepak was part of the Indian kabaddi team which won a gold medal at the South Asian Games in 2016 and a bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games.
He also had unsuccessfully contested the 2024 Haryana Assembly election as a BJP candidate from Meham constituency in Rohtak. Both Saweety and Deepak are recipients of the Arjuna Award, India’s second-highest sporting honour.
