Karina Phipps played steadily to register a deserving 3-1 (11-8, 16-14, 7-11, 12-10) victory against second seed Aryaa Dwivedi in a girls’ under-19 semi-final match of the Silver Scent-48th Bombay Gymkhana Maharashtra State Open Squash Championship 2025 played at the Bombay Gymkhana Squash Courts on Wednesday.
Top seed Ananya Narayan also bowed out in the penultimate round losing to Yashi Jain in four games 13-15, 11-6, 6-11, 7-11.
In the boys' U-19 semi-finals, Rachit Shah defeated Aatik Yadav 11-7, 11-7, 9-11, 11-5, while Purav Rambhia overcame Udit Mishra 11-7, 11-3, 11-5.
The girls’ U-17 semi-final witnessed a tense battle between Vasundhara Nangare who staged solid fight back to put it across Devashree Arora posting a 10-12, 11-7, 2-11, 12-10, 11-6 win to seal her place in the final.
In the second semi-final, Aarika Mishra scored a shock win against second seed Vyomika Khandelwal recording a 11-8, 11-9, 7-11, 11-6 win to advance to the summit round.
