Mumbai: The Maharashtra girls kept their wits about them to score a goal in injury time and hold West Bengal to a 1-1 draw to advance into the quarters of the Jr Girls National Football Championship at Odisha.Maharashtra went into the last league encounter needing just a draw to advance into the last four.

West Bengal managed to hold on to the ball more but could not create too many goal-scoring opportunities. The score remained level at half time. West Bengal managed to score in the 89th minute. With four minutes being added on. Maharashtra continued to attack and got their equaliser in the 92nd minute when Suman Salian scored from a free kick right outside the box.
