Preview:

Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will battle it out in what will be the first of the two matches of IPL 2025 on April 12, Saturday. Both sides are coming off victories in their last two games and will want to keep their winning run going at the Ekana International Stadium.

Although the Titans lost a high-scoring contest against the Punjab Kings at home, they have been remarkable in their next four matches, winning all of them convincingly. All of their facets have come good; however, the 2022 champions got the news of Glenn Phillips returning home due to groin injury. With Phillips not featuring in any of the matches thus far, the squad still looks in good shape, establishing themselves as genuine contenders to win the tournament.

The Super Giants, meanwhile, are coming off a narrow four-run win over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens. Their batting looks like the strongest suit, with Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran etching themselves in the top three run-getters. Nevertheless, the bowling unit still needs some ironing out if they are to go deep in the tournament.
