Liverpool Parade Collision: Man Attacks 53-Year-Old Driver As Cops Arrest Him For Allegedly Driving Car Into Fans At Merseyside; Video

A 53-year-old driver has been arrested by the police officials for allegedly ramming the car into fans during the Liverpool parade on account of the renowned team winning their 20th English Premier League title. A video of the same surfaced on social media as the cops put the driver in a car and a fan began attacking him.

With Virgil van Dijk and co. storming to title victory, the parade organised in Merseyside saw a black car driving full throttle to run through fans amid the open-top bus parade on Water Street in Liverpool's city centre. According to media reports, the incident resulted in injuries to 47 people, including four children, who are reportedly very critical.

A paramedic, who was also on the bike, was also reportedly struck but escaped any serious injuries. According to New York Times, one of the injured four children was trapped under the car.

Liverpool football club extends its support to the investigating team

In a statement on X, Liverpool football club expressed its sadness for those who have been affected by incident and vowed to support all the stakeholders involved in getting things under control. The statement read as:

"We are in direct contact with Merseyside Police regarding the incident on Water Street which happened towards the end of the trophy parade earlier this evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected by this serious incident. We will continue to offer our full support to the emergency services and local authorities who are dealing with this incident."
