A splendid batting performance yet again from player of the match Ira Jadhav, who is on a batting spree ensured her team put up an A level performance to advance into the final of the Late Manoramaben Apte Girls Under 16 Cricket Tournament at Cross Maidan.
Batting first, Oxford Public School made 101-2 in 15 overs. Opener Ria Thakur batted extremely well for her 50 not out in 43 balls. Dhruvi Trivedi made 24. Ashira Patil and Bhargavi Patil both picked one wicket each. In reply, Shardashram put up a dominating show with the bat and chased down their total with ease posting 102-1 in 12.4 overs.
Ira made 43 not out in 32 balls with 3 fours while Mugdha Parte was 40 not out in 33 balls including 5 fours. Thus, Shardashram won their contest by 9 wickets.
In another match, Parag English School won by 10 wickets against National English School. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, National English scored 61-3 in their 10 overs. Antara Tawde top scored with 26. Rajasi Nagose picked (2-12) in her 3 overs spell. In reply, the Parag outfit were on top of their game…chasing down their total of 62-0 in just 7.3 overs. Openers Swara Jadhav and Tanisha Sharma put up a great partnership between themselves, rotated the strike well and went after the opposition bowlers. Swara made 20* off 21 balls, with 1 six while Tanisha smashed a quick 40 not out in just 24 balls, laced with 7 fours. Tanisha thus bagged the player of the match, an MSSA-SG Voucher of Rs, 2000 for her outstanding batting display.
