The Indian Premier League has taken a bold step toward the future of sports broadcasting. In a unique move to elevate the fan experience, the league has introduced a robot dog as part of its broadcast setup during IPL 2025. The robotic addition made its debut in a video shared across IPL’s official social media platforms, where it was seen interacting with players during practice sessions.

The four-legged machine turned heads instantly, sparking surprise and curiosity among the cricketers. Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel, clearly taken aback, exclaimed, "Kya hai yeh?" (What is this?), while Mumbai Indians’ pacer Reece Topley asked amusingly, "What type of dog is this?" All-rounder Hardik Pandya also engaged with the robot, issuing commands and affectionately calling it a “good boy” when it responded.

Morrison also invited fans to be part of the experience by helping name the robot dog. He announced that those who send in the best name suggestions could take part in a special naming ceremony.
