Bengaluru FC Demands Action After Firecracker Attack By Mohun Bagan Supporters Leave Owner Parth Jindal & Fan Injured During ISL Final

Bengaluru FC has officially complained to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) following a dangerous incident during the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 final against Mohun Bagan Super Giant. The match, held at Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday, turned chaotic when a firecracker was thrown into the stand which had Bengaluru FC’s supporters.

According to the statement one supporter of Bengaluru FC reportedly sustained an eye injury that required immediate medical attention. Among the injured was Bengaluru FC’s owner, Parth Jindal, who suffered burns and bruises in the incident. Jindal later addressed the situation on social media, expressing his concern over the inadequate security measures at the stadium.

Bengaluru FC files official complaint

The club in its statement to AIFF said, “This was not just an act of recklessness, but a direct threat to the safety of our fans and officials. Such actions not only endanger lives but go against the very spirit of our beautiful game,” the statement read. “Stadiums should be a safe space – now and always. Such acts have no place in football, or anywhere.”

Mohun Bagan become ISL Champions

Mohun Bagan clashed with the Bengaluru FC on Saturday at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata and the former won 2-1 to lift the coveted trophy. Although Bengaluru's Alberto Rodriguez had opened the scoring for their side in the 49th minute, Jason Cummings and Jamie Maclaren went on to net two goals to help the hosts lift the trophy.

Before ISL trophy, Mohun Bagan already clinching the ISL League Shield, courtesy of which it will represent Indian in the continental stage next season.
