Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting star Virat Kohli was seen teasing KL Rahul about the 'Kantara' celebration and bonded well with his India teammate after the IPL 2025 game against the Delhi Capitals on Sunday. In a video surfaced on social media, the 36-year-old was seen laughing with Rahul despite a heated interaction between the two.

As per media reports, Kohli was irked by Delhi Capitals taking too much time to set their fields and had a heated conversation with Rahul about the same, with both using plenty of hand gestures. With Rahul planting his bat at the Chinnaswamy Stadium after Capitals' win over RCB earlier in the tournament to showcase the 'Kantara' celebration, Kohli mockingly did the same after Sunday's victory.

"People are forgetting the importance of partnerships or going deep into the innings in T20s" - Virat Kohli

Speaking to the host broadcaster after the game, Kohli, who made 51, explained his approach during a run-chase claiming that strike rotation is vital on tricky surfaces like the one they found on Sunday. The veteran warned that players can't start blasting the ball to the boundary from the outset, saying, as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo:

"I look at the total on the board, the conditions, the bowlers who are due to bowl, who are the bowlers who are going to be hard to get away. I try and make sure my singles and doubles don't stop and then you keep getting the odd boundary in between, so the game doesn't get stagnant. That's always been my focus, keep working on rotating the strike. People are forgetting the importance of partnerships or going deep into the innings in T20s and this year your'e seeing that you can't just come out and tee off from ball one. You need to have professionalism to read the situation and try and get into a position where you can start dominating the bowlers."

RCB will next face the Chennai Super Kings on May 3, Saturday in Bengaluru.
