With Mumbai Indians next set to face the SunRisers Hyderabad in a home game on April 17, fans were heard speaking to Jasprit Bumrah and Reece Topley as both cricketers sat beside one another in the team bus. In a video surfaced on social media, a fan was heard asking the Englishman, 'Topley bhai, you want chai?'
The England left-arm seamer was part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) last year but was bought by the Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2025. However, he is yet to play a game for the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing edition. Bumrah, meanwhile, has played two matches thus far this year; however, his only wicket came against the Delhi Capitals.
In a video shared on social media, a fan was heard saying:
"Topley ko jaane do, Boom Boom. Topley bhai, you want chai? You need Mumbai chai? Boom boom please 5 wicket aana chahiye."
(Let Topley be, Boom Boom. Topley bhai, you want tea? Mumbai tea? Boom Boom, please we need 5 wickets from you.)
Mumbai Indians have lost one home game and won the other
In the two home matches that the Mumbai Indians have played in IPL 2025, they have won and lost one each. The five-time champions had beaten the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) convincingly but lost a close contest to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Following two close defeats against RCB and Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai managed to pull one back against the Delhi Capitals, keeping them in good stead ahead of facing the SunRisers.
