Indian middle-order batter and Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Shreyas Iyer was seen involved in a playful banter with content creator or actress Sahiba Bali, who branded the star cricketer as rude for not inviting her to the gym. In a video surfaced on social media, the discussion was seen starting with tattoos and Sahiba said, 'Daant kyun raha hai'.
Iyer, who captained the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to their third IPL title, was surprisingly not retained by the franchise. However, the Punjab Kings had shelled out a hefty ₹26.75 crore for the right-handed batter, making him the second-most expensive player in IPL auction history.
The conversation began with tattoos as Iyer described one of those as immaculate. The Mumbai-born cricketer stated:
"Yeh vocab thodi hai yaar, immaculate toh sabhi bolte hain."
Sahiba playfully retorted:
"Daant kyun raha hai?" (Why you scolding me?)"
The conversation continued as Sahiba stated:
"Ab inka gym class hai. Main walk karungi inke saath because I can't gym with him. Nikal gaya, didn't even say 'chalo Sahiba'. Very rude, very rude."
(Now it's his gym class. I'll walk with him because I can't gym with him. Just walked away, didn't even say, 'Come Sahiba'. Very rude, very rude.)
Sahiba Bali, notably, has starred in films like Dear Maya, Amar Singh Chamkila, Laila Majnu and Jiya Jaye and a web series named Bard of Blood and Taanav. Additionally, the 29-year-old has also worked as anchor for Star Sports India.
Shreyas Iyer gets out cheaply but PBKS hold off CSK for their third win
Meanwhile, Iyer started the tournament with two fifty-plus scores but has registered two single-figure scores ever since.
Tuesday's match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) saw him lose his leg-stump against Khaleel Ahmed after managing only nine runs. However, Priyansh Arya's whirlwind ton propelled Punjab to 219 and they managed to win by 18 runs.
