Highlights from MI vs CSK match

Deepak Chahar had a match to remember against his former franchisee. On his debut, he played a pivotal role for Mumbai Indians, smashing a quick 25 off just 12 balls while batting at No 9. His aggressive knock helped Mumbai reach 155/9 in 20 overs, despite Noor Ahmad’s brilliant 4 for 18 that dismantled the middle order.

On the other hand, MS Dhoni made a brief appearance during Chennai's chase. With just four runs needed for victory, Dhoni faced two balls without scoring, putting Rachin Ravindra back on strike. Ravindra then finished the match with a six off the first ball of the final over, securing the win for Chennai.

Ravindra, who remained unbeaten on 65 from 45 balls, was named Player of the Match for his match-winning innings. Earlier, Chennai’s captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who batted at No. 3 instead of opening with Ravindra, contributed a quick 53 off 26 balls.

This defeat marked the 13th time Mumbai lost their opening match in the IPL, with their last season-opening win coming all the way back in 2012.
