Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja seemingly had a heated conversation with on-field umpire Nitin Menon over ruling Dewald Brevis out in the high-voltage IPL 2025 game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Saturday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. With Brevis wanting to go for the DRS, Menon ruled that he had run out of time despite the screen not showing the clock for the same.

The incident occurred during the 17th over of the innings as RCB skipper Rajat Patidar brought back Lungi Ngidi into the attack. The South African seamer with his second ball of the spell, dismissing Ayush Mhatre for an explosive 94 and trapped Dewald Brevis lbw first ball. After a brief discussion, Brevis decided to review but Menon signalled that the clock had ran out, forcing Jadeja to have a heated chat with him.

Moreover, ball-tracking later showed that the Proteas youngster was not out as the wickets were missing.

Here's how the netizens reacted to the dismissal:

Ravindra Jadeja's unbeaten 77 in vain as RCB win an absolute humdinger

Meanwhile, Jadeja stayed unbeaten on 77 but the Royal Challengers emerged triumphant by two runs eventually to win another home game. The Saurashtra all-rounder's 114-run with Ayush Mhatre (94) stand kept the five-time champions firmly in the contest in pursuit of 214; however, Nigidi's double-wicket over tilted the proceedings towards the Royal Challengers.

With 14 to defend off the final over, there was more drama as left-arm seamer Yash Dayal had bowled a waist-high no ball when 13 runs were required off the three balls. Nevertheless, the free hit yielded only a single for the visiting side and Dayal didn't let any other lapse happen in the remaining deliveries, thereby closing out the game eventually.
