Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has responded to Rishabh Pant’s plea for land in the state, assuring the Indian wicketkeeper-batter of the government’s support. Dhami took to X to acknowledge Pant’s contribution to Uttarakhand and said officials have been instructed to look into the matter.
“Dear Rishabh, you are the pride of Uttarakhand. With your splendid performance and achievements, you have illuminated the name of Devbhoomi in the country and the world,” Dhami wrote. He further praised Pant’s connection with his home state and his desire to return and contribute to its development.
“Your love for your motherland and your sentiment of returning here to contribute are highly commendable,” the Chief Minister added. Dhami was responding to Pant’s recent request regarding land in Uttarakhand, where the cricketer revealed that he has been trying to acquire land in the state for a long time.
Addressing Pant’s request directly, Dhami said that the government has initiated the process. “Regarding the matter you have raised, instructions are being issued to the concerned officials. They will soon contact you and ensure all possible cooperation in accordance with the rules,” he said.
Pant, who hails from Uttarakhand and has frequently spoken about his emotional connection with the state, had expressed his desire to have a place there and contribute to his motherland. His plea came with a broader vision of giving back to the place that has remained an important part of his identity.
The development has now sparked a positive response from Pant’s fans, with Dhami’s assurance indicating that the cricketer’s request will be considered by the concerned authorities in accordance with existing rules.
