BCCI Enforces Policy, Indian Players Families To Stay Back For ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Reports

If any exceptions are made, players will have to bear the full cost, as BCCI will not cover additional expenses. The board’s policy states that for tours longer than 45 days, players can be joined by their partners and children (under 18) for up to two weeks per series.

Indian players families will reportedly not travel with them to the Dubai for the 2025 Champions Trophy, as per the BCCI's new policy comes into effect.

A senior BCCI source told PTI, "Unless there is a change, players will not have their wives or partners with them for this tour. One senior player had inquired about it, but was informed that the policy would be strictly followed."

If any exceptions are made, players will have to bear the full cost, as BCCI will not cover additional expenses. The board’s policy states that for tours longer than 45 days, players can be joined by their partners and children (under 18) for up to two weeks per series. Any exceptions need approval from the coach, captain, and GM Operations.

However, families will be allowed to accompany players during the five-Test tour of England in June-July-August, with the exact window for their two-week stay to be decided later.

These rules were introduced after India’s disappointing 1-3 Test series loss in Australia, where concerns about discipline and team cohesion were raised.

The official mentioned in the report also stated that most other rules, such as mandatory domestic cricket participation and the team traveling together for matches, have already been implemented.

India's schedule for Champions Trophy

India will begin its Champions Trophy campaign in Dubai against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by a high-stakes match against Pakistan on February 23 and their final group-stage game against New Zealand on March 2.
