Dhruv Jurel's chase for a second Test hundred was interrupted by rain on Day 2 of the IND vs SL 2nd Test in Colombo. The right-hander was batting with Mohammed Siraj when the tea was taken early because of rain.
Jurel looked set to make it to three figures but the weather in Colombo took a dark turn. Heavy showers forced the ground staff to pull in covers all over the field, hinting at a fairly large loss of play. Jurel can resume and get to his ton at resumption, should India opt to continue their innings.
Jurel was under criticism coming into the IND vs SL series, but has repaid the selectors faith. He scored a half-century in Galle and now has another good score in Colombo. Jurel was dropped down the order, but he responded to that with a century partnership with Rishabh Pant.
