Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has displayed signs of returning to his brutal best as he is currently on a six-hitting spree in the ongoing first ODI against England at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. The right-handed batter left behind Chris Gayle and now has the second-most number of sixes in the format with 334.

Gayle, who has not retired from international cricket, but is no longer in favour, has scored 331 sixes in the one-day international format. With the Indian skipper hitting three sixes already in the innings, he has now taken over from the Jamaican. Meanwhile, ex-Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi still holds the record for most sixes as he has hit 351 in his career.

Rohit Sharma and co. bowl England out for 304 after losing an important toss

As far as the state of things go in the innings break, England have been bowled out for 304 as they batted out their full 50 overs. Phil Salt and Ben Duckett provided the tourists with another strong start, stringing a 81-run stand in 10.5 overs.

Joe Root and Ben Duckett made 69 and 65 runs respectively, while there were also contributions from Phil Salt (26), Harry Brook (31), Jos Buttler (34) and Liam Livingstone (41). Ravindra Jadeja finished as the pick of the bowlers with figures of 10-1-35-3. Having conceded 249 with four wickets in the opening game, Buttler and co. might feel they have enough runs on the board to defend the score and level the series.
