WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre addressed his attack on Undisputed champion Cody Rhodes in the latest episode of Smack Down. With Rhodes nicknamed as 'American Nightmare', McIntyre warned the world champion that he can be the real nightmare and do violent things, if provoked.

The previous episode of Smack Down saw McIntyre claymore Rhodes onto the announce desk, potentially throwing in a challenge to capture the Undisputed championship. The moment came after the tag team match between McIntyre and Logan Paul and Rhodes and Cena.
Addressing his actions, the Scottish wrestler said:
"I'm not the bad guy. But if you provoke me, I would do very, very violent things. If you provoke me, I'm the real nightmare."
Cody Rhodes had recaptured the Undisputed Championship after defeating John Cena in a heinous Street fight at Summer Slam 2025.

McIntyre, who returned in 2018 to the main roster wrestling company after rebuilding himself, won the Royal Rumble in 2020 and notably eliminated Brock Lesnar in that fixture. The very next night on RAW saw him challenge Lesnar for the world title and ended up clinching it as well in Wrestlemania.
Although the 40-year-old wrestler had lost the title to Randy Orton in Hell in a Cell, he recaptured in RAW in a no disqualification bout, thereby ending their feud. McIntyre's second reign as world champion ended in 2021 Elimination Chamber. He had won in the unforgivable structure but The Miz cashed in his Money in The Bank contract to win the title.
