Liverpool manager Arne lot's search for striker looks to be finally ending with Premier League champions on the verge of signing Eintracht Frankfurt hitman Hugo Ekitike. According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal in place is believed to be over €90m which will potentially reaching €95m. The French striker is expected to sign six yer deal which will be valid until June 2031.
Before Liverpool, Newcastle United made an attempt to land the striker, but their bid was turned down by the German club. The Frenchman has since set his sights on moving to the Merseyside club to elevate his career.
Who is Hugo Ekitike?
Once a peripheral figure at Paris Saint-Germain, Hugo Ekitike has developed into one of the most promising young attackers in Europe during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Initially joining the Bundesliga side on loan, he made a strong impression by scoring four goals in 14 appearances during the latter half of the 2023/24 season. He followed that up with a breakout campaign in 2024/25, netting 15 goals in the Bundesliga, four in the UEFA Europa League, and three in the DFB-Pokal. He also registered 12 assists across all competitions, with eight coming in the league—ranking him among the top contributors in Germany.
Ekitiké has mirrored his club success at the international level with France’s U21s, scoring five goals in five matches, including a standout hat-trick against England in a friendly in March 2025.
