The early stages of the seven-furlong contest saw Emperor Roderic dictate the pace, establishing himself as the frontrunner with Dream Alliance in close pursuit. As the race progressed past the 1,000-meter marker, Emperor Roderic maintained his lead, appearing strong and steady at the helm.

Dream Alliance, the tote favourite, momentarily looked poised to stake a serious claim for victory, catching the attention of the judges. However, lurking just behind was Charlie, with jockey Bhawani Singh displaying remarkable skill and timing in the saddle.
With just 100 meters left to the finish line, Charlie unleashed a blistering turn of foot, surging past the tiring front-runners with authority. In the end, he crossed the wire with an emphatic two-and-a-half-length lead, leaving no doubt about his superiority on the day.
