Harshit Rana made his T20I debut for India as concussion substitute replacing Shivam Dube during IND vs ENG 1st T20I. Rana on his debut picked up wicket of Liam Livingstone in the first over of his T20I career.
Rana came onto the field after Dube was hit on the helmet by Jamie Oveton's delivery while batting. Following the mandatory concussion assessment, Dube was substituted out of the match.
India on top against England
After quickfire start by Phil Salt and Ben Duckett, England lost their momentum midway through the innings thanks to wickets from Varun Chakravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel. Harshgit Rana who cam in as concussion sub also got his maiden T20I wicket to put Englan don backfoot.
Earlier England won the toss and chose to bowl first in the 4th T20I against India in Pune. Batting first, India struggled early, losing quick wickets. Sanju Samson continued his poor form, getting out for just 1 run. Abhishek Sharma managed 29 before losing his wicket, while captain Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for a duck, extending his rough patch. India lost three wickets before reaching 50 runs.
However Rinku Singh (30 runs) and Abhishek Sharma (29 runs) stitched a partnership of 45 runs before Sharma and Rinku both departed. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube launched a counter-attack on England bowlers. Both players scored half-centuries but put on a crucial partnership of 87 runs for the 6th wicket.
For England, Saqib Mahmood took three wickets, dismissing Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav. Jamie Overton took 2 wickets, while Brydon Carse and Adil Rashid took one wicket each.
