Dnyandeep Seva Mandal Primary and Secondary School won by five wickets against General Education Academy at Bombay Gymkhana on Thursday to enter the 123rd Giles Shield Final.

Resuming their batting on day 3, General Education Academy scored 94 all out in 40 overs during their second innings. Shardul Fagare scored 51 runs in 137 balls. Virat Yadav and Lavish Singh picked three wickets each.

Chasing down their total, Dnyandeep Seva Mandal scored 31 in 4.3 overs thus beating their opponents in a comfortable fashion. Akshat Joshi was declared of General Education was declared Man of the Match for his 110 runs.

Resuming their batting on day 2, Dnyandeep had chased down their first innings score comfortably, posting 291 all out in 78.5 overs. Shriyush Chavan batted well for his 80 while Anuj Chaudhary scored 61.

Off spinner Siddhant Desai grabbed a four-wicket haul, (4-49) while Sparsh Gholap also an off spinner- snapped up (3-58). Batting again during their second innings General Education Academy Chembur finished day 2 with 8-0 in five overs.

Earlier on day 1, winning the toss and electing to bat first, General Education Academy posted 224-9 in 80 overs. Right-handed batter Akshat Joshi made 110 in 195 balls which included 16 fours in the process. Anup Yadav was the pick of the bowlers snapping up (3-15) while Umair Nadeem grabbed (3-46).
