The Day 3 of the ongoing England vs India 1st Test is set to be an intriguing one after , both teams have delivered impressive performances over the opening two days. The weather has already played a part in the Test match, with rain halting play for nearly an hour on Day 2. The big question is whether rain gods will reappear to hamper the match on the third day.

ENG VS IND 1st Test Day 3 Weather Update

According to reports, Accuweather has predicted that there is a 65% chance of rain on Sunday in Leeds. Showers are expected between 2 and 4 pm in the afternoon.  However, there is good news as well. Despite there being predictions of rain, more than two hours would not be lost to adverse weather conditions. 

How has England vs India match panned out so far ?

India, batting first after England won the toss and chose to field, posted an imposing total of 471 runs in their first innings. The foundation of this strong score was laid by commanding centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant. All three batters showcased exceptional technique and composure, dominating the English bowling attack to put the visitors firmly in control early on.

England’s reply with the bat began on a shaky note, with opener Zak Crawley dismissed cheaply. However, Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope helped steady the innings. Duckett contributed a solid 62, while Pope remained unbeaten at the close of play with a composed century to his name.

By the end of Day 2, England had reached 209 for 3, still trailing India by 262 runs. With the match finely poised, all eyes now turn to the conditions for Day 3. Fans and experts alike are eager to see whether the weather will hold up and how the pitch will behave as the game progresses.
