Brian Lara Reunites With His Missing Dog 'Moka' Hours After Public Appeal; Video

On July1 Lara took to Instagram to share that Moka, a brown Lhasapoo, had gone missing near his residence at Brian Lara Drive, Lady Chancellor. He believed the dog had been taken and urged the public to assist in bringing Moka home safely.

West Indies cricket legend Brian Lara was reunited with his beloved dog, Moka, just hours after issuing a public appeal for help in locating the missing pet.

On the afternoon of July 1, Lara took to Instagram to share that Moka, a brown Lhasapoo, had gone missing near his residence at Brian Lara Drive, Lady Chancellor. He believed the dog had been taken and urged the public to assist in bringing Moka home safely.

Taking to Instagram he wrote, "My dog was taken. His name is MOKA, brown Lhasapoo and he was last seen at the bottom of my hill just beyond my front gate. I would love him back. I am asking one favour from my people - please if you’ve seen him, report it to the closest police station to you. If found please return him to my residence at Brian Lara Drive, Lady Chancellor. Otherwise please contact 491-0059 or you can message me here on Instagram with any information pertaining to my dog. You will be rewarded for your kindness as I will be eternally grateful to have him back."

Thankfully, within hours of his appeal, Moka was found safe and sound. Lara did not disclose the details surrounding Moka's return. He wrote, "Moka has been safely found and is back home.I am overwhelmed with gratitude to the kind soul who found him and brought him back, and to everyone who shared, searched, and supported. THANK YOU!"

Brian Lara's career

Considered one of the all-time greats, he still holds the record of highest individual score in an innings in Tests – 400 not out against England in Antigua in 2004. He also holds the record of the highest individual score in a first-class match, 501 not out against Warwickshire in 1994.

He held the record for most runs in Tests for quite some time, and remains one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the game. In a long career of 131 Tests, he scored 11,953 runs including 34 centuries at an average of 52.88. He also accumulated 10,405 runs in 299 ODIs.
