The Serie A game between Lecce and Udinese on Friday night saw a heated exchange between Lorenzo Lucca and the latter team's captain Florian Thauvin over taking a penalty kick. A video of the same surfaced on social media as Thauvin was desperately trying to take the ball from Lucca but the latter was having none of it and eventually went for the penalty kick.

The bizarre moment occurred during the first half when the away side was awarded a penalty and an argument triggered between who would take it. Lucca tucked the ball under his arm and was adamant in taking the penalty but was surrounded by his teammates. Thauvin especially got angry towards Lucca but the latter eventually took the penalty and converted it into a goal but had to celebrate it alone.
Eventually, manager Kosta Runjaic substituted Lucca in the 36th minute.
Udinese hold on to a lead to secure invaluable win
Although the incident between the Udinese players captured plenty of attention, the goal from Lucca provided the team with three precious points. Udinese, notably, had endured a winless run of five matches from Christmas to the end of January but are now unbeaten in their last four games.
Leece, meanwhile, remained in the 15th spot after the result, five points above the relegation zone.
