The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a cash reward of ₹58 Crore for Team India following their triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This financial recognition honours the players, coaching and support staff and members of the Men’s Selection Committee. India beat New Zealand by 4 wickets to win the ICC Champions Trophy Final in Dubai on 9th March. The victory also ended India's 12-year wait for an ODI title .
Following the announcement, BCCI president Roger Binny said,“Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes. This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country.”
How did India perform during ICC Champions Trophy 2025?
Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, India dominated the tournament and remained unbeaten on their way to the title. It defeated Bangladesh and Pakistan by six wickets each, secured a 44-run victory over New Zealand, and overcame Australia by four wickets in the semifinal before winning the final against New Zealand.
Rohit Sharma, who has guided India to consecutive ICC titles, holds an outstanding record of 27 wins and just three losses in ICC limited-overs tournaments. During the Champions trophy, Rohit also became the first and only skipper to lead a team in all ICC tournament finals. He has captained India to the finals of 2023 WTC, 2023 ODI World Cup, 2024 T20 World Cup and recently the 2025 Champions Trophy.
