Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer hilariously issued a statement on X over rumours that United States' President Donald Trump negotiated a ceasefire between him and Michael Vaughan, claiming them as baseless. Jaffer comically asserted that the war will continue between the two on the social media platform, suggesting that it is unlikely to stop anytime soon.

Jaffer and Vaughan have continued to take potshots at one another over the past few years when India or England suffer loses. The ex cricketers have been at it consistently in the past few weeks as India and England have traded blows. With India and England winning two Tests in a series of five, they had to share the coveted Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

Taking to X, Jaffer tweeted:

"Reports of Donald Trump negotiating a ceasefire between me and @MichaelVaughan are BASELESS and UNTRUE. The social media war will continue. Thank you for your attention to this matter."

"You go through this morning and England did panic" - Michael Vaughan

Meanwhile, Vaughan was stunned at England failing to get over the line against India despite needing only 35 runs on Day 5 in pursuit of 374. The 50-year-old reckons that the presence of Ben Stokes would have made the difference as he spoke to BBC Test Match Special:

"This morning, Ben Stokes in that team, England would’ve won this Test match. He plays such a big role in this team, the mentality. You go through this morning and England did panic. They just needed one partnership. They panicked in the way that they can with the way that they play, they play with a huge amount of aggressiveness."

Shubman Gill and Harry Brook received the Player of the Series awards, clattering 754 and 481 runs, respectively.
