Lucknow, April 2: The controversy involving Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant and owner Sanjiv Goenka is heating up after a video went viral showing them involved in a heated exchange after the LSG vs DC IPL 2026 clash in Lucknow. There are reports that the incident occurred after LSG lost their first game of the season against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday.
However, Lucknow Super Giants shared another video claiming that it showed the true post-match moment, still many internet users were not convinced. They pointed out that there were many differences in visuals, timing and also the positioning of the people present in both the clips. They are raising questions over the authenticity of the clarification video.
LSG Shares Video
LSG shared the video showing Goenka greeting Pant by hugging him and giving high-fives after the match. They are then seen in the video engaged in serious talks, however, Rishabh Pant's expressions were not visible in the video as he was not facing the camera.
LSG Issues Statement
However, Rishabh Pant is seen little angry with his expressions in the video which earlier went viral on social media. LSG came up with the clarification video after he was slammed on social media. LSG shared the video and said, "Not everything you see is the true story, here’s the unfiltered post match vibes, when cameras don’t cut."
Internet Reacts
The internet users were quick to spot the differences and share it on social media as they were not convinced with the clarification. A user said, The video which is doing rounds was right after the match when the crowd was still there there were commentators still talking about game."
The user further stated, "This is after 30mins of wrapping up of presentation...do you think audience is that brainless to believe you?"
Another user said, "No way they re-recorded this. You can clearly see Rishabh is not smiling or laughing while talking." A user also said, "In the original, Justin Langer is to the left of Goenka. In this version, he is to Pant's right. Try harder, maybe?"
KL Rahul Incident
Sanjiv Goenka was caught on camera scolding former LSG captain and Indian cricketer KL Rahul after their 10 wickets defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024 season. He was seen getting angry on KL Rahul during an intense conversation with Rahul on the field. He had to face public outburst during that time as well and he is under the fire this time also.
