Mumbai : Three wickets by Chandra Prakash man of the match from Anjuman-I-Islam Allan (CST) – helped the team win the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup, Mumbai leg semi final by 8 wickets at Cross Maidan on Friday.Fatima High School won the toss and elected to bat. The team’s batsman were not given many chances to score easy runs thanks to a host of attacking overs by Anjuman-I-Islam Allan’s talented bowlers.

Chandra Prakash sent home 3 batsmen in 6 overs, giving only 10 runs. Prakash was well supported by Shahjeb Shaikh who also took three wickets in 6.1 overs and gave 15 runs. Fatima High School’s batsmen appeared to lose confidence as they took on the Anjuman-I-Islam Allan bowlers.
In 34.1 overs, the team was back in the dugout for total of 55 runs.In the chase, Kasid Meer and Jay Dave scored 38 and 17 runs respectively for Anjuman-I-Islam Allan and gave their team the victory they needed and a spot in the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup final. Anjuman-I-Islam Allan won the semi-final by 8 wickets, chasing their target in 7.1 overs.
In another match, while batting first, Shubham Singh and Pushkar Sharma led the batting for Al-Barkat M.M.I. Eng. with knocks 46 and 38 runs respectively. Singh smashed seven fours in his 38-ball innings and helped the team register a fighting score of 171 in 38.2 overs.
While chasing, Rizvi Springfield were bowled-out for 162 in 44.1 overs. Ashutosh Singh showed some resistance with his 31-run knock in 47 balls but did not get the required support from his teammates. Al-Barkat M.M.I. Eng bowlers Shoaib Khan and Rajesh Sardar claimed two wickets each and helped their team to win the match by 9 runs. Shubham Singh was adjudged man of the match for brilliant knock.
